Student Life: Library Support

Library Support

Our library values access, inquiry, literacy, collaboration, privacy, and equity. We support staff and students by connecting them with high-quality resources and instruction to enhance their learning.

We provide the following services to support learning:

  • Instruction - Students learn how to responsibly use and evaluate resources, information, and technology tools.
  • Access to resources - Students check out library books or access digital resources that meet their academic needs or help them explore their interests.
  • Reader’s Advisory - Get suggestions for which book to read next, or which resources to use for a project.

Mission and Vision

EWMHS envisions a media center that functions as the “hub” of the school and builds connections in the areas of curriculum/instruction, technology, equity, and cultural competency to empower learners. The mission of the EWMHS Media Center is to empower students to become lifelong learners through the promotion of collaborative and inquiry learning, reading, and innovative technology. The media center will curate a diverse collection of materials that furthers equity and empathy, provide engaging instruction to encourage students as effective and ethical users of information and ideas, and create collaborative opportunities.
